A senior Lashkar-e-Taiba operative identified as Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa, also known as Asif Fauji, has been killed during a security operation in the Yousmarg forests of Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district.

According to the Indian Army's Chinar Corps, a joint search operation was launched by the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF. The Army subsequently identified the recovered body as that of Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa, describing him as a Pakistan-based LeT terrorist. War-like stores were also recovered during the search operation, according to the Army update.
Officials cited in current reports said Moosa had been active in Jammu and Kashmir for around three years and had operated across areas on both sides of the Pir Panjal range, including Poonch, before shifting his activities toward Budgam and Yousmarg.
