In a statement, the organisation said the claim, which has been circulated in the media, lacked adequate historical evidence and could lead to misunderstandings about the history of Tlabung and surrounding areas. The YMA maintained that Tlabung and nearby regions historically represented the southern extent of Mizo settlements and were under the authority of Mizo chiefs.
