Punjab Police has brought back Amritpal Singh alias Amrit Dalam, also known as Gurpal Singh, from Moldova to India following extradition proceedings. The development marks the Punjab Police’s first successful extradition of a wanted fugitive from a European country.
The operation involved coordination between the Punjab Police, central agencies and international partners. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav specifically acknowledged the role of the Anti-Gangster Task Force, Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell, IPCU-CBI, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs and authorities in Moldova and Azerbaijan.
