The Counter Intelligence wing of Punjab Police has arrested 686 terrorists and busted 92 terror modules during operations conducted between March 16, 2022, and September 11, 2026, according to Punjab Police.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, while addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on September 14, said the Counter Intelligence wing had also prevented major terror attacks by pre-emptively neutralising 53 terror modules during the four-year period.

According to the police chief, security operations resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of weapons and explosives, including AK-47 rifles, other rifles, revolvers and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Police also seized more than 28 kg of RDX and other explosives, along with 131 hand grenades and six Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) launchers, Yadav said.
The Punjab Police chief further said that 43 terror attacks had been reported in the state since September 2024, including attacks targeting police stations. He claimed that all these cases had been solved by the police.
