The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Nagaland recorded the collection of 11,99,456 Enumeration Forms during the enumeration phase conducted from August 16 to September 14, 2026. This represents 88.38% of the state’s pre-SIR electorate of 13,57,208.
The enumeration exercise identified 28,944 deceased electors, while 1,23,749 electors were categorised as absent, permanently shifted or others. Another 5,059 electors were found enrolled at multiple places in the electoral roll or marked as duplicates.
The Draft Electoral Roll 2026 was published on September 20, 2026, across all 60 Assembly Constituencies of Nagaland. The draft roll contains 12,06,457 electors, comprising 11,99,456 general electors and 7,001 service electors.
The Election Commission’s revision process also included preparation of booth-wise lists of Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) electors whose names were not included in the draft roll. These lists have been made available through the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland website and at the respective Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer offices.
Genuine electors who were unable to submit their Enumeration Forms during the enumeration period can seek inclusion during the claims and objections period from September 20 to October 20, 2026. Such applicants may submit Form-6 along with the prescribed declaration form.

Why This Matters
The SIR process is intended to verify and update Nagaland’s electoral rolls while providing eligible electors an opportunity to ensure that their names are included in the electoral roll.
Applications and objections can also be submitted through the ECI Voters’ portal and the ECINET mobile application, in addition to the prescribed physical submission process.
The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue until November 18, 2026. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 22, 2026.
