The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall across parts of eastern and southern India in the coming days as a depression over the westcentral and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify further and move towards the north Andhra Pradesh–south Odisha coast.
Odisha is expected to experience very heavy rainfall on September 22, followed by extremely heavy rainfall on September 23 and 24. The IMD has also forecast very heavy rainfall on September 25 and heavy rainfall on September 26.
