The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted searches at seven premises across Kolkata, Delhi and Ranchi in connection with a money laundering investigation involving Akhbar-E-Mashriq Pvt. Ltd., an Urdu daily newspaper, and its director, Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Mohd. Nadimul Haque.
The searches were carried out by the ED's Kolkata zonal office and included premises linked to Haque, the newspaper and other locations associated with the case. The operation began early Monday and was being conducted in coordination with security and state police forces.
