As part of its efforts to strengthen women’s safety, Delhi Police said its Shishtachar Squads have been reinforced through hotspot mapping, regular patrolling and surprise checks. The measures are aimed at increasing police presence in locations identified as requiring greater attention.

In another major operation, Delhi Police’s Crime Branch, in coordination with the Vadodara Crime Branch, arrested an accused and seized 2 kg of heroin allegedly originating from Pakistan, with an estimated value of approximately ₹12 crore.
According to the police, the operation also resulted in the recovery of a vehicle and two mobile phones. Further investigation is underway to establish the source, intended destination and wider network associated with the seized narcotics.
Meanwhile, the Central Delhi Police carried out anti-encroachment operations in several busy areas, including Paharganj, Kamla Market, Karol Bagh and Turkman Gate. Police said the action was aimed at improving public convenience and maintaining smoother movement in congested areas.
