Seven people were killed and 11 others injured after a private passenger bus overturned and rolled down a steep slope in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday morning.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 7:15 AM near Chalunj Mor on the Bairagarh-Tissa road, a hilly route in the remote Bairagarh area of Chamba district. The location lies in the vicinity of the route leading towards Sach Pass.
The bus reportedly overturned and rolled down the steep slope several times before coming to rest on a lower road.
Seven passengers died in the accident, while 11 others sustained injuries and were taken for medical treatment. Police and emergency personnel reached the accident site and rescue operations were carried out to evacuate passengers from the damaged vehicle.
The exact cause of the accident has not been established in the initial reports. Authorities are expected to investigate whether road conditions, vehicle-related factors, driver error or other circumstances contributed to the crash.
