The Food Safety Department of the Delhi Government has increased enforcement and inspection activities across the capital ahead of the upcoming festive season, when demand for milk products, sweets, paneer and other food items rises significantly.
During a recent inspection at Okhla Sabzi Mandi, officials destroyed more than 500 kilograms of suspected spurious paneer after finding it unsuitable for consumption. The department has initiated legal proceedings under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
