Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will undertake an official visit to Sri Lanka from September 8 to 10, 2026. During the three-day visit, he will hold consultations with the Sri Lankan leadership on a range of issues and interact with the Indian diaspora in Colombo. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of External Affairs.
India and Sri Lanka share longstanding civilisational ties and a broad-based partnership covering defence and security, economic cooperation, trade, development and people-to-people relations. Defence cooperation includes regular high-level engagements, military training, naval interactions and bilateral exercises such as MITRA SHAKTI and SLINEX.
